Hurrican Irma -- Closure Update Email from Director Giltrop

Staff, Many of you have no power, downed trees, flooding, and other damage – please know my thoughts are with you. I was evacuated, but I am in a hotel that does have power. Emergency Operations will be activating 4 POD locations on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Library staff assigned to those locations have been or are in the process of being contacted with details. If you have not been called, then your POD is not yet assigned. The administrative staff are all assigned to work PODs tomorrow. Thank you in advance to all of the POD staff for your extra efforts in serving the community as it recovers from a historic storm. The Main Library has made it through the storm well. The branch libraries will be checked tomorrow. At this point, we hope to reopen as many locations as possible on Wednesday. You may be assigned to a location other than your regular assignment if needed. You will be contacted if that is the case. We will provide updates tomorrow.
